The First Two VTT+ Webcasts Arrive

Ray Stewart Bookkeeping, Business, General, VAT, Videos 0 Comments

I have actually managed to get the first two of my mini series of webcasts uploaded today.

The first one, which you can see by clicking here, is a general introduction to Visual Transaction Plus; how it evolved; where you can download a beta version from; and covers the initial installation of the program.

The second one, which you can see by clicking here, leads you through the setting up of a sole trader business in the package, and starts to deal with simple payments and receipts.  I have also squeezed in a small amount on entering and then paying purchase invoices and touched on journal entries.

The next in the series, to be uploaded shortly, will deal with sales invoicing, receipts from customers, and getting into some more detailed transactions.

My idea for the series it that by the end, you will be able to follow me all the way through from installing the package right up to using it in a detailed and flexible way.  I trust you will find your questions answered and any fears you may have about committing to a computerized package, or even changing from your current package, will be set aside.

Please do not hesitate to let me know if there are things you need to understand that I haven’t covered, or didn’t cover in enough detail for you to grasp, and I will do my best to help you out.

I am a qualified Certified Practising Accountant having passed my final exams way back in 1981. I actually can’t believe that was 33 years ago!! Anyway, I am now in my 50’s and I have been running my own business since May 1983. And before you ask, no, I have never regretted a moment of it! Part of the membership requirements of my professional body now dictate that I spend quite a lot of time on “CPD” - continuing professional education (one of their better ideas) - and over the last two years I decided to study business growth and marketing. I have learnt such a lot and that knowledge has radically changed my old “accountants” approach to business. It has made such a difference to the way I work and operate I feel that I just have to pass on this knowledge. It is simply too powerful to hold back!! - but I will try and do it in simple terms rather than expecting you to spend hours, as I had to, working through the difficult language that trainers seem to use to pass on their concepts. I hope you find the blog a useful resource and interesting place to visit as the months pass. I will do my best to keep up the flow - but if there are any topics you would like me to cover, then please let me know. Ray Stewart
