Will You Be Brave Enough To Help Me Today?

I was browsing through Waterstones in Loughborough the other day when I stumbled over a newly published book called “The Winner’s Bible” by Dr Kerry Spackman.  This author has coached many top atheletes and business people and I am always curious about the mindset of really successful people, so I bought it.

I will report in full when I have finished working through the book, but at the moment I am stuck on chapter 3 (Your Strengths, Weaknesses and Repeated Mistakes) and I have to say it is uncomfortable work.  Self Help books that I have read in the past have never probed as deep as this one so I think this one may actually have some real benefit.  So, uncomfortable or not, I will do the exercise.

This is where I need some brave volunteers.  It is well known that we all have a rose-tinted view of ourselves and whilst we may be aware of some of our strengths, weaknesses and repeated mistakes, it is unlikely we know how others perceive us.  So, and I take a deep breath here asking this in public, I will really appreciate you taking a few minutes to undertake an exercise, completely anonymously, where you can write a few paragraphs about how you see me and the way I work, what impresses you about me, what annoys you about me and what you think I ought to change.

This is the email the website recommends I send out which explains a little more about this exercise.  No-one ever sees who has written what so don’t hold back.  All I see is a compilation of the comments witn no hints as to who participated or what was said.

I recently purchased The Winner’s Bible by Dr. Kerry Spackman.

It is a great book in which World-renowned neuroscientist Dr. Kerry Spackman shows you how to use and customize the ground breaking tools he pioneered for elite athletes, Olympic champions, and top businesspeople to permanently rewire your brain and transform your life.

An important part of the book is gaining a better perspective of my own strengths and weaknesses.

There may be crucial things I don’t understand about myself that could be holding me back in my life.

I’d like your help to look at the areas where I could improve.

If you are interested in helping me all you have to do is click here or copy the following URL: http://winnersbible.com/account/audit/3024/invite/ZYaR5n0Ozh6bqIBQhtsd and paste it into your address bar on your browser.

It’s a very simple process and won’t take long. Your comments will be automatically combined with those from at least three other people in such a way that I won’t be able to determine who they came from. Further, I will only get comments after at least four people have audited me.

I can close my audit after 10 days time, so would appreciate it if you could find the time to add your comments before then. If you need longer, please let me know so I can extend the audit period. Once you have started you can add, delete or edit any comments you made for as long as my audit is open .

Many thanks,

Ray Stewart

“Please note that the ONLY reason that you are required to register your details (name, email address and time zone) is so that your comments can be matched to the correct person. The Winner’s Bible website aims to make this as simple and unobtrusive as possible and will NOT pass on your details to anyone or use your contact details for any purpose (such as marketing or mailshots) other than to assist you with your Audit process. You may receive further automated
notification emails but ONLY related to your Audit process.”

Please do not feel under pressure to do this.  I am really interested in how the world actually sees me and I trust you implicitly to be frank and honest.

If this works out well, perhaps I can return the favour at some point if you find my report of the book and the exercises interesting and so choose to walk the same route yourself!

I am a qualified Certified Practising Accountant having passed my final exams way back in 1981. I actually can’t believe that was 37 years ago!! Anyway, I am now in my 60’s and I have been running my own business since May 1983. And before you ask, no, I have never regretted a moment of it! Part of the membership requirements of my professional body now dictate that I spend quite a lot of time on “CPD” - continuing professional education (one of their better ideas) - and over the last two years I decided to study business growth and marketing. I have learnt such a lot and that knowledge has radically changed my old “accountants” approach to business. It has made such a difference to the way I work and operate I feel that I just have to pass on this knowledge. It is simply too powerful to hold back!! - but I will try and do it in simple terms rather than expecting you to spend hours, as I had to, working through the difficult language that trainers seem to use to pass on their concepts. I hope you find the blog a useful resource and interesting place to visit as the months pass. I will do my best to keep up the flow - but if there are any topics you would like me to cover, then please let me know. Ray Stewart
