A Kind Invitation From An Avid Blog Reader!

I received a telephone call out the blue yesterday afternoon from a blog reader.  It is always uplifting to speak to people that my humble mumbling’s here have touched by the power of the Internet.

The reason for this call was to introduce me to a select group of entrepreneurs who are revealing their methods of making extraordinary sums of money.  I confess I was a little flattered at first but then I was talked through the way the club worked and where I would fit into the scheme of things.

I am always sceptical when someone tells me that “before we start, this is not MLM”.  This is usually because it is.  It’s like someone saying “I’m not being rude but…” and then proceeding to be exactly that!

Anyway, back to the phonecall.  The gentleman blog reader was very nice and talked me through the steps but it was only at the end of the call that I found out the cost, and that I would need to introduce 6 people before I started to make some commissions out of the “sales/joining fees” from the people I introduced.

The sum involved is quite significant – more than £700.  Admittedly there are some high profile and successful business people behind this and there is a lot of marketing information in various forms available to members once the fee is paid.

The thing is, the whole essence of this blog is to help people learn about all aspects of marketing and business growth without any agenda or charges.  I only talk about methods that I have studied, tried and tested.

I know I should package all this information up and sell it in polished dvd’s, manuals and seminars, but I also know that the people who could benefit most from the knowledge don’t have the funds to payout for these slick courses.

So, having considered all the information I could find on the group I was introduced to, I have decided it is not a path I wish to follow.

I will continue giving away as much solid information as I can to my blog reader faithfuls in the hope that the people who need it get some benefit, and I will gracefully decline the kind information to join this super-group of marketing guru’s.

As long as I continue to receive positive vibes and comments about my content, I am happy to continue in this vein for the foreseeable future.

I am a qualified Certified Practising Accountant having passed my final exams way back in 1981. I actually can’t believe that was 37 years ago!! Anyway, I am now in my 60’s and I have been running my own business since May 1983. And before you ask, no, I have never regretted a moment of it! Part of the membership requirements of my professional body now dictate that I spend quite a lot of time on “CPD” - continuing professional education (one of their better ideas) - and over the last two years I decided to study business growth and marketing. I have learnt such a lot and that knowledge has radically changed my old “accountants” approach to business. It has made such a difference to the way I work and operate I feel that I just have to pass on this knowledge. It is simply too powerful to hold back!! - but I will try and do it in simple terms rather than expecting you to spend hours, as I had to, working through the difficult language that trainers seem to use to pass on their concepts. I hope you find the blog a useful resource and interesting place to visit as the months pass. I will do my best to keep up the flow - but if there are any topics you would like me to cover, then please let me know. Ray Stewart
