You will be pleased to see that the much acclaimed Tax Resource Center on the website that is for the benefit of the registered members is now fully updated with the changes made in the budget last week.

This resource center is provided free of charge and is full of information and tax calulators. So, if you want to know what level of car benefit your new vehicle will attract – check it out[private_basic]. If you think you may be eligible for tax credits before they disappear – check it out. If you want to know what the new employee will cost you in terms of tax and NIC – check it out. There are many more calculators for you to play with endlessly to assist you in your decision making.

Today also marks the end of the first year of newsletters. I hadn’t realized until I was preparing the April 2011 newsletter today that it was April 2010 the first one went out. How time flies. I have received good feedback from these newsletters that once again are free to registered members on the site (and registration itself is still free) and the April 2011 newsletter is set to fly out tomorrow morning at 9am. So if you haven’t taken the plunge and registered, make sure you do today so that you do not miss any more of these information packed emails.

To see a potted summary of each newsletter so far (including tomorrow’s!) nip over to the newsletter page and look down the list. If there are topics you are interested in or concerned about that I haven’t covered, please let me know and I will make sure they are dealt with as soon as possible.

I am a qualified Certified Practising Accountant having passed my final exams way back in 1981. I actually can’t believe that was 37 years ago!! Anyway, I am now in my 60’s and I have been running my own business since May 1983. And before you ask, no, I have never regretted a moment of it! Part of the membership requirements of my professional body now dictate that I spend quite a lot of time on “CPD” - continuing professional education (one of their better ideas) - and over the last two years I decided to study business growth and marketing. I have learnt such a lot and that knowledge has radically changed my old “accountants” approach to business. It has made such a difference to the way I work and operate I feel that I just have to pass on this knowledge. It is simply too powerful to hold back!! - but I will try and do it in simple terms rather than expecting you to spend hours, as I had to, working through the difficult language that trainers seem to use to pass on their concepts. I hope you find the blog a useful resource and interesting place to visit as the months pass. I will do my best to keep up the flow - but if there are any topics you would like me to cover, then please let me know. Ray Stewart
