Business Builder Seminars

SeminarFor a long time now I have been working on bringing a series of seminars to our local area that would be of use to all local businesses – not just clients.  The idea is for a combined seminar/networking/strategic goal setting sessions with maybe a bit of food/coffee thrown in for good measure.

I used to enjoy my breakfast sessions with the Federation of Small Business before they finished due to falling attendance and I have been thinking about how to make a regular monthly meeting more useful and more interesting to keep attendance flowing.

I have discussed my ideas with loads of people and everyone has been very kind and supportive – but, nice and reassuring as it is, would that goodwill actually convert to bums on seats on a regular basis to make the whole thing worthwhile?

The format I have in mind is a semi-formal, themed, training seminar lasting about 20 minutes to cover a practical approach to a series of business problems, then an opportunity for attendees to bring a specific problem they are tussling with and to put it to the other successful entrepreneurs at the meeting in the form of a strategic board session so that they can create an action plan for dealing with the issue allowing you to continue building your business profitably.  These sessions should not last more than 2 hours so will not impact too much into a busy schedule.

Basically the sessions will be designed precisely for people like you.  Does this sound like something that may be of interest to you?

As a taster, some of the training sessions I have been working on are:-

I am a qualified Certified Practising Accountant having passed my final exams way back in 1981. I actually can’t believe that was 37 years ago!! Anyway, I am now in my 60’s and I have been running my own business since May 1983. And before you ask, no, I have never regretted a moment of it! Part of the membership requirements of my professional body now dictate that I spend quite a lot of time on “CPD” - continuing professional education (one of their better ideas) - and over the last two years I decided to study business growth and marketing. I have learnt such a lot and that knowledge has radically changed my old “accountants” approach to business. It has made such a difference to the way I work and operate I feel that I just have to pass on this knowledge. It is simply too powerful to hold back!! - but I will try and do it in simple terms rather than expecting you to spend hours, as I had to, working through the difficult language that trainers seem to use to pass on their concepts. I hope you find the blog a useful resource and interesting place to visit as the months pass. I will do my best to keep up the flow - but if there are any topics you would like me to cover, then please let me know. Ray Stewart
